In late April it was screened at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego www.sandiego.edu/peacestudies/ipj/.

8 May 2009

It was also was an official selection at the International Film Festival on Human Rights in Sucre, Bolivia, held in May www.festivalcinebolivia.org.

It was the featured film of the International Feminist Film Festival at Oregon State University in the spring, www.oregonstate.edu.

The film had its Portland premiere as part of the NW Film Center’s Tracking Series on Aug. 23 at the Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium. Finding Face was screened October 12-14 at the University of Idaho and at the Kenworthy Theatre in Moscow, Idaho. Filmmaker Patti Duncan was present on October 14 for a discussion following the film.

Finding Face won BEST FILM at the Astoria International Film Festival, October 16-18, 2009, in Astoria, Oregon. It was screened at the historic Liberty Theater, 1203 Commercial Street, Astoria, Oregon.

The Human Rights Commission of Portland hosted a screening of Finding Face on 10 December, 2009, followed by a discussion facilitated by filmmakers Patti Duncan and Skye Fitzgerald. This event was sponsored by Portland’s Office of Human Relations.

The Center for the Study of Women in Society at the University of Oregon sponsored a screening of Finding Face on Thursday, 4 March, as part of the Women of Color series. 17-18 March 2010

The City of Portland will sponsor a lunch time screening of Finding Face as part of International Women’s Month on 17 March in the Portland Building, SW 5th Avenue. The following day, 18 March, there will be a discussion facilitated by the filmmakers, 12:00-1:00.

Finding Face will screen on Thursday, 18 March, 9:00 pm, as an official selection of the Portland Women’s Film Festival at the historical Hollywood Theatre. As the opening night feature, it will be free and open to the public. For more information, see http://www.powfest.com/

The film has already received international media attention, including features in The Cambodia Daily, The Phnom Penh Post, World Pulse Magazine, The Oregonian, The Portland Observer, Ethos Magazine, and The Asian Reporter. Interviews with the filmmakers and/or subjects of the film have aired on ABC Australia, Voice of America, World Radio Switzerland, Air America, the BBC, KGW News, KATU News, Oregon Public Broadcast, and KBOO Radio.
